Independent Living Supports

Independent Living Supports helps people with physical disabilities build the skills and confidence needed to live safely and independently in the community.

The program provides goal-oriented guidance, education, and problem-solving support. Staff work with individuals to identify their needs and connect them to the resources, equipment, and services which maximize independent living.

Independent Living Supports does not provide hands-on personal care services. Instead, the program helps people learn how to manage daily life and access the supports they need to live independently.

This includes:

  • Individuals living in Supportive Housing and Reintegration Care Units
  • Individuals receiving Attendant Outreach services

The program helps clients build skills and access resources to enhance independence.

Support may include:

  • One-to-one guidance and coaching
  • Education and skill-building
  • Coordination with community partners
  • Recommendations for equipment or services
