Annual Client BBQ Celebrates Community, Inclusion, and Resilience
This year’s Bellwoods Client BBQ came with one unexpected guest: rain.
As forecasts changed leading up to the event, our planning team found themselves quickly adapting plans and reimagining the day to ensure clients could still enjoy the celebration. Thanks to the flexibility, creativity, and teamwork of staff and volunteers, the event seamlessly transformed into a mix of indoor and outdoor activities, allowing everyone to participate comfortably while keeping the energy and excitement of the day intact.
What could have been a challenge quickly became a reminder of what makes the Bellwoods community so special. Staff, volunteers, and organizers came together to problem-solve, support one another, and ensure that clients remained at the centre of every decision.
The result was an afternoon filled with great food, laughter, raffle prizes, and meaningful connections. Clients enjoyed the opportunity to socialize with friends, meet new people, and spend time with the staff, volunteers, and supporters who help make Bellwoods such a vibrant community.

As a nonprofit organization, Bellwoods relies on the generosity of community partners to help create experiences that go beyond our core services.
This year, we were honoured to receive a generous in-kind donation from CHANEL, which allowed us to provide special gifts and raffle prizes for clients. These thoughtful contributions added an extra layer of excitement to the day and helped make the BBQ even more memorable. For many participants, these gifts were a meaningful reminder that there are people and organizations in the broader community who care deeply about their well-being and inclusion.
